Effective February, 2012, any rebate requests that are not completed or that do not have adequate receipts will be returned to the customer with instructions to contact their contractor. Contractor initials on the rebate request form do not constitute a receipt, and those forms will be returned to the customer.
Why not include rain sensors? Utah rainstorms are generally very slight during the summer months, and they do not often produce enough water to measure up to one full irrigation watering session. Rain sensors are only eligible if they are paired with other features such as freeze, wind, or humidity sensors. Why the limit on drip components? We encourage homeowners to install drip wherever appropriate, and we consider drip systems to be a good solution to much of the overwatering problems seen in Utah landscapes. However, every drip zone is unique and customized, so determining which drip parts to rebate must be arbitrary for now. How long will it take to get my rebate? Rebate payments will begin after July 1. After that time, requests and checks will generally be processed within a week. Incomplete or illegible forms may take longer to process, and if contractors must be contacted for more information, that also will take longer.
